Food & Music
The Bride may wear a red wedding dress symbolizing love and joy. At the wedding reception, a nine-course meal (lasting up to three hours) is very popular. A family member may act as the official "Master of Ceremonies" orchestrating family introductions, toasts, comedy sketches, and a reenactment of the newlywed's courtship.

NIGHT BEFORE NOODLES
Many Korean-American couples today are torn between having a traditional Korean wedding or a modern westernized one. One groom came up with an excellent compromise. Because he knew how important it was to his bride-to-be to honor her family and her heritage, he decided to throw a huge rehearsal dinner at a traditional Korean banquet hall, complete with classic Korean dishes such as *kook soo*, a noodle soup, and *kimchi*.

Traditional Japanese foods are sekihan (red rice), kombu (kelp), tai (sea bream, the traditional fish of happiness), and sake (rice wine).

KOREAN Tradition
KOREA: The Korean mother of the groom tosses dates and chestnuts to her new daughter-in-law. The number the bride catches indicates how many children she'll have. Ducks are included in the wedding procession because ducks mate for life. The groom used to travel to the bride's house on a white pony, bearing fidelity symbols — a gray goose and gander (fowl that mate for life).

Filipino Traditions
Philippines: At a certain point during the ceremony, a ceremonial veil is placed over the groom's shoulders and the bride's head. This symbolizes the unity of the two families into one and is also a prayer for health and protection for the couple during their married life.
Formal mens wear is a Pinoy barong.
